BabyMine

Colt is getting to an age where he isn't by my side constantly like he used to be. He wants to run and play with the older children. It's exciting to see him make friends and do things on his own, but it's also so sad and scary to let go of him a little bit.  Letting go of him a little bit means letting him get his heart hurt a little bit. His heart is pure innocence still, unsuspecting and trusting. He doesn't understand why an older child hurts him, nor does he mind too much; he still wants to be friends.  As a mother, I know this is just the first of many situations where I'm going to have my heart broken from seeing someone be mean to my baby. The baby I held in my arms and rocked to sleep so many times. The baby I spent 17 years praying for. The baby whose curls I played with while feeding. The baby whose feet I kissed and fingers I nibbled on.  I have to watch the world not treat my baby as kindly as I would wish. And that's really hard.

Ol' Settlers Reunion {2014}

    I just love our silly little family traditions that involve Stanton. It is a great way for the littles to learn about their Daddy, his family and his childhood.         Always LOVE when Ethan gets to spend the night. LOVE this boy. He is such a sweetheart!     This is the way we roll...lol... This RV is hardly used for travel, but makes a great in town vehicle:) We keep going back and fourth about selling it...     The best part about Ol' Soreheads Reunion is we get to see Nancy and Gary.. aka Nana and Big Daddy. They always make a trip back to attend.When Lils saw her Nana she was so excited and broke out in a full run right into her arms.     This girl LOVES Big Daddy!!! She did not leave his side almost the whole time we were at the parade. The parade is always short and sweet.. we were actually saying how sad it is that it seems to be getting smaller every year and less people are attending. Makes me

4th of July

  For the 4th we had some friends over for a pot luck. It was crazy as always with a house full of people:) But we loved every moment!!  Gladys and Johnnie Lee are about the most amazing couple we know!! I can not tell you the amount of respect we have for this family!! And their precious son Andrew is a true blessing to all that know him. Not to mention that they can cook!!! They brought the best ribs we have ever eaten!! Gladys is smitten with Storrie:) She is just itching for her son Tim and his new bride to make her a grandma.. But until then, she can get her baby fix with Storrie:)   Mandy had Laura Beth for the weekend (LB is spending the summer with her dad) so they stayed with us so she would not have to make the 8 hour drive back to her town and also so we could celebrate Mandy's birthday after Laura Beth went back to her dad's   I just love having our home full of our wonderful friends.  Tonia and I take the prize of having the c
