Some Thoughts.....

It is so hard to believe just two years ago we were waiting the arrival of Lilly. We lived in constant fear that her birth mom would change her mind (to say she was/is unstable would be a understatement) or do something (drugs) to cause harm to the baby. It was one of the most difficult times in our lives. A time that we truly had to lean on one another and God more then we ever had before. But just a few weeks later we were blessed with the most precious early Christmas gift that made all the hell (sorry for the choice of word, but that is what it was) worth it. Lilly was worth all we went through and so much more. She is the light of our lives and our family would not be complete with out her. Adoption is not easy. It is probably the most emotional, scary, heart breaking, gut wrenching, horrible, joyful, amazing, beautiful thing a couple can do. I am so thankful that our heavenly Father gave us the strength to not back out. And I am thankful for the friends that stood beside me and g

Movie Night and Sparkles

Or should I say Sparkles and Movie night:) Jeff and I talked about getting one more dog the decided that I  we have enough to take care of. But............ His best friend told him about this four year old rescue dog in Dallas that they were going to get but decided on a puppy instead. Jeff REALLY wanted this other dog and after I saw a picture we decided , what the heck? We might as well. So when Ronnie and Connie  went to Dallas to get their new pup they picked up our new little girl.  Her name was Gem, but Ollie really wanted to name a dog Sparky but since she is a girl,he decided on Sparkles.  We went to HomeGoods to get her her very own little bed. I don't know if Sparkles will like it, but sure is a big hit with my two littlest. As you can tell.. Sparlkes was welcomed with open arms. Our puppy loving little girl was so excited. Kinda of blurry, but I just love Lilly's expression in this one. Brenna suggested we have a "mo

Three weeks to the day my kitchen is finally done! I am so crazy excited I can hardly stand it. I am amazed at how good it looks. It is beyond what I hoped. I find myself being taken back every time I walk in. I am even enjoying cleaning it..lol. I am still in the process of decorating it so I am sure there will be picture updates later, but for now, here are some pictures to my beautiful new kitchen:) Before the table was moved in... My table totally does not go with the style of the new breakfast area.  Hopefully I can sweet talk into a new one soon:) Lilly approves:) Also check out the first signs of Christmas decorating. My Santa {painted by yours truly} and the little snow man on the table. This is the view when you first walk into the kitchen and look left... Not really sure what is going to on in the new shelves.. any suggestions??? The view if your standing in the breakfast nook looking into the kitchen... Anot

Kitchen Remodel {week 3}

Image
Today is officially three weeks since the kitchen remodel  started and we are almost done. They are finishing the painting of the breakfast area right now and then the only thing left is to put the protective sealer on the grout on the tiles and island which they will do tomorrow so it can cure during the littles nap.  Here are some pictures from the last week. I am super excited about the progress and can not wait to show you the "Ta Dah" pictures. This was a plain door with wooden folding doors. He took of the doors to open it to the rest of the house and built this amazing frame around it. Close up of Ruben's amazing work:) This was just a awkward shelf that he framed to match all the other amazing things he did. There use to be a  floor to ceiling shelf here that we had him close up, but kept it hallow  in we ever wanted to open it up again Playing around with the island. Love that picture of my sweet Sara:) The
