My Super Hero's

Image
I never realized how much fun little boys could be!!  When Sara was little, what I loved most was the hours of dress up. We never knew what princess would pop out of her room. Every once in a while even a pink Power Ranger or Batgirl would emerge . I think she had as many dress up clothes as real clothes:)  This was one of the reasons I {thought} I only wanted girls. Boys are boring.. Right? WRONG!!! I have learned little boys are just as precious as little girls and they even like to dress up. The other day Colt came in the kitchen and did this little stand. He said "Da da da da {trying to sing the Batman song} I Bat Man and I am here to save your day"... No matter how big he gets I know that this will be one of those pictures that I will always treasure. One that years from now when I look back I will get all teary and experience a flood of memories.     Then my little super hero started doing the cutest little dance. He was twirling his litt...

ANNIE {Brenna's Play}

Image
Brenna landed a role in "ANNIE" several months back. This was such a exciting time. She has tried out for a few plays before this and this was the first role she got. She was super excited and her Daddy and I were super proud. The last several months has been full of play rehersal. Some time 3 or 4 nights a week. I was so proud of how hard she worked at this. At times it was very difficult for her to manage school, friends, family and the play, but she hung in there and did it.   They would not allow flash photography at the play so we only have a few pictures from after the play. Sadly I had to leave a little early since our baby sitter needed to go home. Jeff snapped some with his cell phone Brenna might not of been the star of the show but she was OUR star:) Brenna and Daddy Bren with her two special guys:) Uncle Stevie Aunt Amy, Claire and Stevie We are so proud of Brenna and really impressed how talented she is.

Our Story...

Image
One of my favorite blogs is Kelly's Korner. She is doing a link up party on adoption.   Adoption is my favorite subject. Adoption is the most beautiful word in the world to me. I know that I have talked here and there in my blog about our experience but for this link party I would share once again some of our story.     Since I was old enough to know what a baby was all I wanted was to be a Mommy. While other little girls talked about growing up to be a teacher, lawyer, doctor or what ever, I wanted to grow up and be a Mommy. When I was 18 my dream came true. I had a beautiful baby girl. Sara was born in October 1991. I was young and had no clue what I was in for but some how we made it. I learned so much from her. I learned what true love was. In my heart I knew I was not done. I just did not know that the journey that God had mapped out would be so long and painful.   I dreamed for years to have more children. I prayed. I begged God for years ...

Oliver's 8th Birthday Party {Part 1}

Image
Oliver's birthday was actually on the 5th but we just had his party yesterday. It is just to close to Christmas to pull off a party. Actually, by the time it is his birthday I am partied out.   This year we had a pirate theme party. It turned out even cuter then I imagined. This first post is just to show all the cute decorations. I really think considering that the littles and I were sick all week and the day of the party I felt like I was going to pass out that it really all came together. I always feel like no matter how many pictures I take that I just can not capture the true cuteness of it all.   Here is the cake/dessert table      Love. Love.Love The cake and cookies.   And such cute cupcakes   The Beverage Table See that big thing with the red punch in it?? I ended up knocking it over and flooding the kitchen floor. More on that later:)   The Food Table ...

Oliver's Birthday {day}

Image
I am a week late posting this, life s just crazy sometimes and time slips by. As you know, Ollie turned 8 on the 5th. We spent the day together as a family and Ol's got to chose what he wanted us to do that day. He asked to pick out his own gift, so we went shopping then to lunch at The Mall. He wanted a new pair of Batman Converse and to go to Game Stop to get some new games and Sky Lander action figures.       All three of the little ones acted like monsters and would not mind at all. But all and all it was a great day. I love seeing Oliver excited and happy. Lilly was so funny. She insisted in carrying the bags thru the mall . She just looked so big:(   Next weekend will be Oliver's party, so be looking for one more post:)

Sisters

Image
  It struck me while watching the girls play how many things are similar yet so different with them as with my sister Kim and me.  Brenna is 10 years older then Lilly just like I am of my sister. They also have different mothers just like Kimmie and I do. The difference is they are getting to grow up together. They see one another every week. Brenna lives with us almost half the month. Kim and I only saw one another a handful of times while she was growing up. It has only been the last 11 years that we have REALLY been in one another lives. I look at the girls and I have a wide range of emotions. I am overjoyed  that the girls have one another and would never have it any other way. But it shows me how much Kim and I missed. I wish more than anything I would of been able to rock her when she was a baby, to tickle her and braid her hair and have her look at me with the same hero worship that Lilly looks at Brenna.  Now let me say... Over the past ...
