Warren....

25 years ago, my Momma married the most amazing man. By doing this she gave me such a gift. Warren became such a vital part of our family. He was so good to me and my brother. He helped my mother raise my nephew, their grandson. He was always there for each of us and also for my aunts and grandmother and really just about anybody he has ever met. He never missed a opportunity to witness or to pray for someone.

In March Warren was diagnosed with stage four lung cancer. He was given only three months to live. He met this diagnoses the way he did everything thing else in his life. Full force. With a unwavering faith. He never took his eyes of God or His word. He never lost his faith or his joy. He made the most of every minute of what time he had left.

Sadly in July he lost his battle and quietly went home to be with the Lord. I know heaven rejoiced and God welcomed him into His Kingdom with open arms.

Our family is left with a big hole in it that can never be filled... but also with a legacy .
My mother recently went to have test ran the place where Warren would go to have his tests ran and have is lungs drained.  She was met with such love there. From valet parking, to the front desk, to the technicians , to the doctors. People from all the different departments came to give her their condolences. To tell her how much they loved him and what a great man he was. Many with tears.  The nurse that was with my mother said that she has never seen anything like it. That something like that had never has happened.
This doesn't surprise me or any of our family. Warren was truly loved by all that knew him.
I hope to raise my boys to be the man that he was.

Here are a few pictures from our last visit.
I will never forget his smile. He enjoyed every second of our family being together.
