Sista Sista (Kimmie's and Ken's Visit)

A couple of weeks ago week I got a call from my little sisters boyfriend. He said that Kimmie was really missing me and he wanted to surprise her with a trip to see me. We spent a few days planning it behind her back. The plan was for her to think Ken needed to go help his mother with something the night before they were to leave and then see how long it would take her to figure out they were coming here:) But Kimmie kept making all kinds of pans for the week so finally a few days before they were to come Ken called and put me on speaker to tell her what he was planning. She was super excited and totally surprised.

There is just some thing about our beautiful nephew. He has Jeff under his control totally!!

Lilly could not get enough of Ken. It was the funniest thing to watch her study his shaved head..HA! She just could not understand where his hair went. She kept touching it and giving him the funniest looks:)

Oliver and Ken really hit it off. It was so funny.. Oliver kept calling him "Detective". When they went to the store together, Oliver told him "You know.. You and me? We got a lot in common". Ken said "We do? Like what?" Oliver responded"You know.. We are both sneaky. Your a cop and I want to be one so you have to be sneaky. And we both like hot woman.".. HA!
Both Ken and Kimmie said they wanted to have a son just like Ollie. What a ultimate compliment. Makes this Momma's heart happy:)

Sadly this is the best picture I could get of them together:)

Just look at how beautiful this girl is! And her heart is even more so:)

Even though it was just a little less then 48 hours.. I loved every minute with my sister. I love this girl more then sunshine. She is truly my best friend in a way only a sister can be. I hate that we missed the first 18 years of her life getting to know one another, but cherish the last 11 that we have shared and all the memories that we have built. I actually think it makes us closer. We truly understand the importance of one another and do not take our relationship for granted as we could of if we grew up together.
And I have to say that I am so proud of her. The last few years she has gone through more then any woman should. But where a lot would buckle, she found the strength to bring both her and her son out of a horrible situation and make a wonderful life for both of them. She is one of the best mother's I have ever seen and Mason is beyond adorable! I LOVE seeing them together. . She was truly born to be a "Mommy".
It was GREAT to finally meet the wonderful guy who has won her heart. I love hearing Mason call him "Daddy" and I love that Ken looks at him with as much love and pride as Kim does. Under no uncertain terms, Ken IS Mason's father! Just more proof that blood and DNA does not make you a parent. Love and commitment does. It is beautiful to see her so in love with some one worthy of her. He really seems to be a keeper. Even Jeff likes him and he seriously does not think any one is good enough for Kimmie, so that says a lot:)

Hope to see them again this summer. I miss her so much already!
