Kitchen Remodel {week 3}
Today is officially three weeks since the kitchen remodel started and we are almost done. They are finishing the painting of the breakfast area right now and then the only thing left is to put the protective sealer on the grout on the tiles and island which they will do tomorrow so it can cure during the littles nap.
Here are some pictures from the last week. I am super excited about the progress and can not wait to show you the "Ta Dah" pictures.
This was a plain door with wooden folding doors. He took of the doors to open it to the rest of the house and built this amazing frame around it.
Close up of Ruben's amazing work:)
This was just a awkward shelf that he framed to match all the other amazing things he did.
There use to be a floor to ceiling shelf here that we had him close up, but kept it hallow
in we ever wanted to open it up again
Playing around with the island. Love that picture of my sweet Sara:)
The new wall color in kitchen.
I am still wanting to put a glaze or something over it but for now, it works perfect.
My wonderful contractor, Ruben, hanging a new chandelier in the breakfast area.
When we took the old lighting down, we discovered a small problem. We were not going to be able to hang the new lighting center with the island with out tearing up the whole ceiling.
So we hung it center and did the chain thing to .hook it up to electricity.Then the problem was how to cover up the ugly hole.
Ruben, being as awesome as he is, took some left over parts and put them together to create this.
It was white, but he found spray paint to match the fixture. It looks like it goes with the light fixture now. {the ceiling was painted a little later}
See... Much better:)
I have to say, we really do have the best contractor EVER! And he has a fabulous crew. They are so sweet to my babies and the littles adore them. I really feel like we made a friend with Ruben, He is a great guy.
One of his workers, Fonzie, even let the little help paint. Colt was super excited.
Lilly wasn't to sure about it:)
But as soon as she saw Ruben she had to have a hug:)
Hopefully tomorrow I will be able to post pictures of it all done.
And here is a shot of the area they will be closing in for Brenna's new room.
She is beside herself with excitement.
