The most special Fathers Day ever

This has been a extra special Father's Day for Jeff and our family. As in the previous post, Lilly's adoption was final on Friday.I can not say enough how blessed our family feels to have been given the gift of having this precious baby girl in our family.

Fathers day weekend has been a blast.

Jeff woke up to his gifts at the bottom of the stairs.

This man is the most difficult man on the planet to shop for. Anything he wants, he go's out and gets or it cost so much that there is no way that I can sneak around and buy it without him finding out. So I really had to get creative.
I wanted to have each of the boys to wear one of his Princeton foot ball jerseys and have professional pictures done. But they swallowed Colt. So I decided to just do one with Ollie.. at least I will have another  Father's Day gift in 4 years when Colt is big enough to wear it.
It was a hit! Jeff actually cried when he saw it.

Colt made this little "Daddy's Boy" picture at CDO and again was moved at the little feet prints. I know it will be treasured for years and years to come.Brenna gave him this little snack 6 pack. We all know how Jeff loves his sweets. And Lilly gave Daddy a picture of her, because she is just so darn cute and knows how Daddy loves to look at her.

We spent most of the day in the pool
It was extra exciting since it was the first time since my surgery that I was actually able to get in with them. Since I had no make up on and really don't like the way I look in a suit.. there will be no pictures of me. You can all thank me later.

Colt and Lilly are the ultimate water babies.

I love the way Lils is just "chillin"

Colt loves his new Ducky float. He kept saying "Quack, quack" and the just bursting out laughing.

Father's Day always brings back memories of my Dad. He has been gone 10 years and I miss him so much. My parents divorced when I was 5 and after that my Dad was pretty much MIA, showing up here and there.Sadly he chose alchol over my mother, brothers and me.
He went on to start a new family and thank God he did, this is how I got 2 of my best friends. My little brother and sister.. James and Kimmie.
Thankfully 5 years before my Dad passed, I, through Christ, was able to forgive him. In the next few years before he died we where able to build a relationship. I got to know him on a personal level. He finally became my Daddy.
I know treasure every phone conversation we had. Every visit. I am thankful I got to be with him in his final days.. that I got to share the word of God with him.. that I allowed Jesus to use me for my dad to see the love that He had for my father. I am thankful that I did not let the past steal my future.
And I am so thankful for the most precious gifts he ever gave me. The twins, Kim and James. I wish he could see how close we are now. I wish he could see what amazing people they grew up to be and what wonderful parents they are. I know he would be so proud.
