Stitches {Lilly}
A month or so ago I went to dinner with my friend Katie... Seriously, To get out of the house and have a dinner with friends just does not happen! Or at least it does not happen as much as I would like!!
Jeff stayed home with the four littles. About the time we where ready to leave Jeff called. His voice was errie calm. He started out telling me that everything was ok and that the ambulance was on its way (I freaked out maybe a little at this point). He went on to tell me that Lils tried to climb the popcorn machine. That some how she cut her tjroat on it and I needed to get home (now I am freaking out A LOT!!).
Thank goodness I was with Katie amd that we where so close to the house. We almost beat the ambulance.
Poor Lilly... She was a bit scared but not even crying. She was more concerned for her dress that she bled on. But there was a BIG gash in her neck. The paramidics (who are friends of Jeff's) suggested we take her to the minor emergency clinic instead of the ER... you get in and out a lot faster there.
Holly watched the other three and Sami went with us to take her. Lilly was so brave. She did not even cry. The staff was super impressed by her. They said she was the sweetest, most well behaved, not to mention brave little girls they have seen in a long time.
I wish I was as brave as she was... It took everything I had not to cry.
Jeff was super calm until it was all over with. This gash, a few inches over, could of killed her.
I can not tell you how thankful we are that our baby is ok.
A week later I took her to have the stitches out.. Again.. She was super brave!
We celebrated by going shopping at Target. Then a girls lunch with just the two of us and we ordered a new dress on line to replace her other dress.
This child amazes me daily. She has such a loving, kind, gentle spirit.

Six stitches |
Hard to believe that something that looks so harmless could hurt my baby so bad |
