Jeff's Birthday Weekend{at the ranch}
Last weekend was Jeff's 52nd birthday (January 25th)
All he asked for was to spend the weekend at the ranch *sigh* So Thursday night we loaded the RV up for a 3 day weekend and headed that way... Oh.. I forgot to mention, we have electricity!! Yippee!! No more sleeping in the RV... Anyway, we left early, but do to bad weather it was about 2am when we finally got there. Thank God for our wonderful neighbor! He came earlier to turn on the heater for us. We were exhausted! And when I say we, I mean me and Jeff. The kids slept most of the trip so they were ready to party. It was a long night to say the least.
The next morning, the weather was beautiful!!
Colt just stood on the porch and said "Wow! Beautiful! Momma.. God made our ranch so pretty for me"
Even though school was cancelled, we could not see Brenna until later that night. I know that does not sound like much, but when you do not get to see your daughter but every other month or longer, those few precious hours mean everything!! So we had several hours to kill. We decided to head to
San Antonio for a little shopping. But before we did, I had to get some pictures of my beautiful babies.
I just love Colt's face in this one...
And Oliver's in this one.
Lils was not in the mood to get her picture taken..but finally was able to get one half way decent of my littlest four together.
We finally got Brenna late that night. Really to late to go any where. So the next day we got up and drove into town for lunch and to pick up supplies for the new house.
I just love sweet Oliver!! He is so funny and truly provides the laughter in our family.
Brenna and Colt have such a special bond. When she is with us they are pretty much attached at the hip. He even sleeps with her. Bren got all teary and when I asked her what was wrong, she said "He is just growing up so fast and I am not there to protect him. I won't be there when he goes to Kindergarten. Kids can be mean. I need to be there to protect him". How lucky is he to have such a good big sister!!!
The rest of the weekend we just hung out at the ranch.
Lilly is totally loving her cowboy boots. She even fell asleep in them.
Thankfully baby Storrie travels so well. As long as she has her bouncy chair she is happy:)
This was my favorite part. the littles found a old frisbie and had the time of their lives playing with it.
It is no secret that I was less then thrilled about the ranch.. but watching my sweet boys run and explore with Lils tagging right behind them makes it all worth it. I know they will have the greatest memories of growing up there. Colt kept saying "I sure love our ranch" and none of them wanted to leave. So even though we were really forced into buying this place so Jeff could see his daughter by one person's selfishness and no desire to put her daughter's needs first.. it is turning out to be a good thing. Matter of fact, if we would have not of had a place to come to, it would of been March before we saw Brenna again. That would have been three months! It is just twisted!! Everything Jeff and I do we do for our six. They are our world. I just do not understand parents who put their own needs first even at the expense of their child and her happiness. I am so proud of my husband for doing all he can to benefit his relationship with Brenna--who buys a ranch and an RV out of love for his kid. Who puts his daughter's happiness before his own desires. And thankfully,the other Robnett kids benefit too. This ranch will end up being home away from us!! I have to admit.. I am having fun decorating it:) We have already started building some great friendships in Harper and in Fredericksburg. There are even a few shops interested in carrying my necklaces:) And Jeff is excited to set up a law office their in Harper in the near future.
In another month we will have water and plumbing.. No more using the RV as a out house..lol. Can hardly wait!
