My Surprise Party (am I really 40??)

Image
  Sunday before last, my sister of the heart, Dana, came by to take me to lunch for my birthday day. So "just" her and I could celebrate together.      I was running around like a crazy woman getting kids down for their naps and trying to finish getting myself ready. Jeff was being kind of a jerk insisting that I not be gone long because he had things to do. When we finally left the house Dana was acting weird about where she wanted to go. She kept naming all these place that are closed on Sundays. She even pulled the car over at one point and was on her phone. She said it was to find a picture of someone she wanted to show me. Finally she talked me to going to SteinMart. SteinMart is a total hit or miss kind of place and on Sunday it defiantly was a miss! Everything in that place looked like something my Grandmother would of worn or reminded me a lot of my mother's curtains. Dana kept wanting to look at stuff and was even making a fuss over some r...

I'm A Girl's Mom

I am about as girlie-girl as they come.  Pink is my favorite color and I love nothing more than doing my nails, hair, make-up, and getting all dressed up.  I have always played with dolls and used to play dress-up for hours (ok.. Sometimes I still do..Ha!).  Romantic movies and books are my favorite. I'm about as far away from a tomboy you can get.  So when the doctor first cried out, "It's a girl!" at Sara's sonogram, I was elated! My own sweet little girl.  Bows, dolls, and everything pink danced through my head. The joy of raising Sara was so amazing that when we found out Lilly was a girl , my heart leapt.  Not one, but TWO sweet girls!  Proms, wedding dress shopping, pedicures, long talks ala Gilmore Girls....I could not be more excited to experience all these special moments again.  Sure, the teenage years can (and were at times with Sara) be rough with girls, but I would not trade them for anything...

Yulp... It's Been One of Those kind of Days...

And this is all before noon... This is what happens the two minutes it takes me to go to the restroom...     Gold Fish EVERY WHERE!! And this is what happens in the time it takes me to go down to the basement to do a load of laundry...   They got into my purse and found my Color Stay lip stick.   Not only did they get it on their faces, but on their clothes and Lilly's bows. I have scrubbed and scrubbed their faces like crazy. I got most of it off. But the little I couldn't get off looks like a rash or a weird birth mark.     I know someday I will look back on this day and laugh....   JUST NOT TODAY!!!

The Robnett's Invade Stanton {again}

  This past weekend was Trade Days in Stanton. As I have mentioned before, this is where Jeff's family is from. They still have his grandmother's house there and also a small ranch. So anytime their is a event, we go. I have really started to look forward to these little traditions. Jeff always points out where his Grandmother's store was, the Barber Shop he would go to as a little boy, special places his Dad would take him to and other little store that hold special memories. He then will share about the family and friends that worked in these stores. Even though I have heard the stories way more times then I can count, I always look forward to hearing them again. This is such a great way for our little ones to learn about their Daddy and family members they never had the chance to meet. Oliver is at the age where he is starting to ask a lot of questions. He is loving hearing how much he is like his Daddy when Jeff was a little boy.   Poor Colt got a little freake...
